The Marquette - Eureka game will be a preview to next week's rivalry match. These are always hard fought contests because one school usually has smacked down the other for a while and that gets under the others skin. Eureka has been top dog for the last couple of years until Marquette put a hurt on the Cats superior football this fall. The Mustang hoopsters will be looking to revenge a couple of stinging defeats from last year's league and district playoffs. It should be a tight game if Eureka can stay out of foul trouble with their starting line-up.
And can someone tell me who is the real Lift for Life Academy team? The guys who lost to a winless Parkway West team in the opening round, or, the toughs that hung around to the last minute with the Statesmen yesterday? And where did the Ritenour varsity team go on vacation yesterday? Ouch. I wonder if the head coach was listening to John Lennon's "Nobody told me there would be Days like this?"
Like I said, these kids are 15, 16, maybe 17 years old and some of them still won't make their bed or get up for shoot-around.
