How the Post Dispatch Boys Basketball Rankings stack up

I took a look at the week 9 Post Dispatch boys basketball rankings for the St. Louis Area large and small school to see if they are starting to fall into place with my mathematical modeled ratings and it looks like the teams are starting to line out fairly well.  There are a couple of East side teams, Collinsville and Alton, that deserve to be higher in the P-D polls.

The top large school teams, Belleville West and East St. Louis on the Illinois side, and Francis Howell, out on the edge of St. Louis/St. Charles, are all set to take a run at state championships in their classes.  Vashon and Trinity will face off fairly early in Missouri class three sectionals leading to the state championship run-up.  That game would be a great state championship final, but will be an elimination game far to early for one of those great teams.

I have to give a shout-out to the large and small school teams that belong in the top 20 list but aren't showing up..... Hancock (117), Lindbergh (116), Nashville (115), Pattonville (113), O'Fallon (113), Galesburg (111), Lafayette (111), and Riverview Gardens (110) all belong somewhere on the list as on the bubble or in the top ten.  Maybe next week?
