2017-2018 Missouri Boys State High School Rankings vs. MaxPreps

I pulled in the Max Preps rankings for all 600 plus Missouri boys high school teams to look at how they compare to my ranking algorithm.  That also allowed me to add about 100 teams that do not usually show up in the St. Louis Post Dispatch.

One thing that I noticed is that Max Preps seems to use absolute records as the main factor in their rankings rather than strength of schedule or head to head competition, so there were a number of very good small schools with great records in the top 100 Max Preps standings that I have calculated to be low rating teams.  Hats off to them for having a great season, but the plain fact is that there are always bigger fish in the ocean and they could not compete with a large Kansas City or St. Louis large school.
